Instructor Dr. Sandy Weiss

Dr. Weiss teaches a variety of management courses for the University of South Florida’s Muma College of Business at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She currently focuses on management consulting in the healthcare space. Her most recent professional roles included serving as a leader for a large for-profit healthcare system, where she led clinical quality and regulatory compliance initiatives within the ambulatory care setting, then served as the Vice President of Education for a medical device start-up. She exited the start-up after a successful $30M acquisition. She has robust experience across the healthcare continuum, from co-founding a companion care company, working on Medicare quality measure development and implementation as well as health policy contracts, to leading in the acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings. She earned her Doctor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Healthcare Management from Saint Leo University. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and Project Management Professional (PMP). She also holds a graduate certificate in Innovation and Human Centered Design from The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and is an AHRQ TeamSTEPPS 2.0 Master Trainer. Dr. Weiss is a caring, high-energy, team player with a passion for enhancing patient safety & healthcare quality and optimizing efficiency to improve operations! These goals are achieved through utilizing a strong foundation in project management principles and emphasizing clear, consistent, and strategic communication. Dr. Weiss is passionate about motivating, educating, and coaching individuals, teams, and organizations to succeed!

 

Emotional intelligence and resilience are two of the most important “soft skills” needed in the modern workforce. Throughout this course, students will learn how these two skills impact various facets of the workplace, including the all-important HR function. Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to learn how to build emotional intelligence and resilience in themselves, and how to assist colleagues in HR and other departments in their own growth.

Course Fees

Course fees must be paid before beginning a class. Fees are posted for each course. Some programs have special registration procedures and requirements. These are posted on the program/course web page.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, American Express, and company-approved purchase orders payable to USF Corporate Training and Professional Education. Personal checks, money orders, and cash are not accepted per university policy.

Attendance

To complete our open enrollment noncredit courses satisfactorily, you must attend 75 percent of multiple class meetings. One-day classes require full-day attendance. Some courses/programs may have additional completion requirements. Check the program description for details and/or check with your instructor. No course re-sits are allowed (participants that have not met the attendance requirement and are seeking a letter of completion for a course may re-register at full cost of attendance for a future offering).

Course Withdrawals / Refunds

USF reserves the right to cancel any noncredit course, in which case registration fees are fully refunded. If it becomes necessary for USF to cancel, postpone or combine courses, or change a course location, you will be notified by email or phone. It is important that we have your current contact information. If a course is cancelled, you will receive a full refund. If a registration is received after the enrollment limit has been reached, a full refund will be issued.

Withdrawals/Refunds from Corporate Training and Professional Education courses must be in writing, prior to the course start time.  Fees are associated with withdrawals/refunds.

Allow 5-7 working days for credit card refunds and 6-8 weeks for check refunds.
