Instructor Elizabeth Hennig

     Serving as a business strategist, Elizabeth Hennig develops and assists both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations with the implementation of solutions for results, growth, and sustainability.

With broad experience in finance, human resources, and operations, Elizabeth guides companies through meaningful strategic, business, and organizational planning. She helps establish effective staffing structures that emphasize role clarity and accountability and assists with the development of roadmaps for achieving measurable outcomes. Taking time to understand the knowledge, skills, and abilities of key staff and the effectiveness of systems in place, she assesses a company’s readiness for executing plans.

Both mission- and business-focused, Elizabeth is committed to supporting non-profit clients by providing strategic counsel to develop organizational capacity to achieve a mission while maximizing income. Examples include human services organizations that focus on independence, integration, and self-advocacy for people with disabilities, conservation organizations that preserve and protect biodiversity, and private universities that help students achieve their greatest learning potential.

Passionate about coaching and professional development, she has created and teaches courses in Risk Management, Compensation Design, Data-Driven Decision Making, HR Essentials, Business Acumen, Cultural Wellness, Leadership, and Communicating Ideas at Work. Elizabeth has customized courses for businesses and for the University of South Florida’s office for Corporate Training and Professional Development.

Elizabeth earned an MBA from the University of South Florida. She is certified as a professional in HR by HRCI and SHRM. Before opening her own practice, Uptrend Custom Solutions, LLC, she served ZooTampa at Lowry Park for nearly 20 years as CFO, SVP for Planning, and head of HR.

 

Taking the first step toward advancing your skills in data-based decision-making can be as easy as learning to ask more questions. What should our HR team focus on? Why do employees stay? How far off is our compensation from the market? How can our HR department best demonstrate its results and impact? How can we improve our training programs? Once you spark your curiosity, you will find yourself focusing more on getting real information that will provide meaningful answers.

In this course, you will learn about KPIs used to assess the effectiveness of the HR function. You will also learn about how to gather specific data, consolidate it, then use it as a basis for how to improve talent acquisition, training, and employee engagement.

No matter how limited or vast your resources are, and no matter your skill level, you can develop an analytics approach that will make a difference at your company. Gaining a data-based driven mindset will help you think more broadly about HR’s role. It will push you beyond administrative and compliance duties and help you elevate your department’s potential.

Course Fees

Course fees must be paid before beginning a class. Fees are posted for each course. Some programs have special registration procedures and requirements. These are posted on the program/course web page.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, American Express, and company-approved purchase orders payable to USF Corporate Training and Professional Education. Personal checks, money orders, and cash are not accepted per university policy.

Attendance

To complete our open enrollment noncredit courses satisfactorily, you must attend 75 percent of multiple class meetings. One-day classes require full-day attendance. Some courses/programs may have additional completion requirements. Check the program description for details and/or check with your instructor. No course re-sits are allowed (participants that have not met the attendance requirement and are seeking a letter of completion for a course may re-register at full cost of attendance for a future offering).

Course Withdrawals / Refunds

USF reserves the right to cancel any noncredit course, in which case registration fees are fully refunded. If it becomes necessary for USF to cancel, postpone or combine courses, or change a course location, you will be notified by email or phone. It is important that we have your current contact information. If a course is cancelled, you will receive a full refund. If a registration is received after the enrollment limit has been reached, a full refund will be issued.

Withdrawals/Refunds from Corporate Training and Professional Education courses must be in writing, prior to the course start time.  Fees are associated with withdrawals/refunds.

Submit requests via email to barnesk@usf.edu. No Withdrawals or Refunds will be issued after course start date.  

Allow 5-7 working days for credit card refunds and 6-8 weeks for check refunds.
